Alex Weber, bassist and composer, is based in Baltimore, MD. Being born into a musical family, he was always surrounded by music whether it be at performances of his father who was a percussionist, at the shows his actress/singer mother would perform in, or just by hearing them practice around the house. Alto saxophone was his first instrument but after picking up the electric bass at the age of 12, he immediately knew that this was to be his calling. Early on he was attracted to punk and ska music but quickly started to drift in the direction of heavier musics like the various forms metal. Throughout middle and high school Alex would perform and record with various metal bands that all performed at many of the well known MD/VA rock venues opening for notable acts such as Cynic, Devin Townsend, Gojira, Candlemass, and Sonata Arctica. Alex joined the progressive metal band Exist in 2008 to cover bass and vocal duties and has since recorded two albums with them, the 2010 EP “In Mirrors” and their debut album “Sunlight” in 2013.
